Phosphor Bronze was introduced by D'addario in the 70s for the acoustic guitar. Now, D'addario has applied all those years of experience to the acoustic bass. Phosphor Bronze produces a rich harmonic landscape on the high end and for the bassist produces a warm, bright well rounded consistent tone.
To make these strings D'adario wraps phosphor bronze over precisely drawn hexagon shaped high carbon steel core. This gives the strings great intonation and a bright tone.
