They are made of nylon which is very durable and at the same time flexible. They are covered with Dava's grip making it very comfortable to hold the plectrum and at the same time will prevent slipping. But the must important thing is that each of this plectrums have customizable gauge that can be changed while you are playing! If you hold it close to the tip of the plectrum it will behave like a heavy gauge plectrum, if you move towards the center the gauge will decrease giving you a smoother more medium gauge feel. Using the Dava Grip Nylon tip Picks on a tenor banjo and find them very good. At sessions which I regularly attend some of the other musicians complementary about the sound of my banjo .I also use them on my octive mandolin .Took a bit of getting used to but like them now
