Elixir Phosphor Bronze Strings with Elixir NANOWEB technology is the latest in string coating technology. Do you know that great tone you get when you open a fresh pack of strings and play with those complex, clear, bright tones for a week? Then the string begins to go dead and the tone settles in and it is just not the same anymore. Well with Elixir new NANOWEB coating technology you can enjoy the great crisp sound of a new string longer. Thanks to the coat that gets into the string winding; dirt, oils, skin and other contaminants don't get stuck in the windings taking your tone away. The NANOWEB is so thin as well that you don't have to be obstructed by it. You'll never know it's there and you'll have all the tone you have come to expect from Elixir Phosphor Bronze.
The string begins its life with an anti-rust treatment over a plated plain steel strings which makes it corrosion resistant. Then the core, as well as the phosphor bronze winding are both coated with NANOWEB to provide a second barrier against tone killing contaminants. The NANOWEB coating has another advantage, which is that it decreases finger squeak.
With Elixir, you have a product that sounds bright, feels clean, has a vibrant and alive sound. Then only the highest quality copper/tin alloy is used in the wrap to produce a long-lasting, rich tone with higher frequency harmonics that are distinct.

Elixir Nanoweb...
I recently put these onto my acoustic. I had been using Ernie Ball Earthwood Phosphor Bronze. While these are nice strings the Elixirs to my ear feel and sound so much better. The Elixirs are more expensive but worth it. I would recommend checking them out.

Nanoweb...
I actually use these strings nanoweb 11-52 on my banjo , i play tenor banjo for traditional irish music so i only use four of the strings , the gauges i use are 11,22, 32, 42 they are perfection for the banjo and they seem to last forever i could have them on for a month or two and they still hold their brightness , great strings please keep supplying these guage strings , brilliant

Yaaaa, I'm not too sure about Elixir quality anymore, bought them for years but I think over the past while they are losing the edge. After a couple of plays now ye feel them becoming dull, losing their brightness, and therefore needing changing more often.

I've been using Elixir Nanoweb Phosphor Bronze 12 guage strings for years now. Did a little classical guitar many years ago and I decided to go back to a bit of classical on my acoustic guitar. So, I changed to 11 guage Custom Light strings to see if there was a noticeable difference. There certainly is from a playing point of view. Easier to fingerpick , less strain on my fingers and I still get the lovely tone I expected and had always been getting from Elixir strings. And they last a lot longer than other brands. Ultra...
Havn't had ultra lights for years. They make fingering strings easier for sure. And yes, they lose a little volume. However, I wanted them for playing at home and for fingerpicking. And for that they are excellent. Have used Elixer for years , they have always done the job. Strings.ie excellent. Reaonable price, always send a couple of complementary picks which is nice...they even sent a couple of sucky sweets this time. Sure, me grandmother will never be dead while strings.ie are in buisness!
