The string begins its life with an anti-rust treatment over a plated plain steel strings which makes it corrosion resistant. Then the core, as well as the phosphor bronze winding are both coated with NANOWEB to provide a second barrier against tone killing contaminants. The NANOWEB coating has another advantage, which is that it decreases finger squeak.
