Description

D'addario American Bronze Strings

D'addario American Bronze Strings are made with a lower copper to zinc ratio. This gives the string a halfway sound between a Phosphor Bronze and an 80/20 string. In essence, it will retain the warmth of the 80/20 and the brightness of the Phosphor Bronze. If you are a five-finger picker they will give you the added volume to make your sound rounder.

The 85/15 bronze are wrapped to high precision around a hexagonal high carbon steel core that would extend the life of the string and give you excellent intonation.

D'addario American Bronze Strings summary:

  • Halfway between a Phosphor Bronze and an 80/20 tone, bright but also warm in the middle
  • Long lasting
  • Packaged with environmentally friendly corrosion resistant materials for a fresh set every time
  • Made in the USA
  • Making Guitar Strings since 1918

    Can't get them in U.S.

Posted by CR Strean on 13th May 2014

Got a pack of these 80/15's Med gauge from a student looking for 80/15's strings on the internet. Couldn't believe the difference on my Taylor Dn4. from the EJ17's. Nice "Bell" tone. Don't know why D'Addario doesn't offer them in the U.S. (D'Addario Rep couldn't tell me why either, didn't know.) I definitely will be back to order more. Thanks you guys. CRS

the best strings set for a begginer!

Posted by Eugene on 19th Dec 2013

Had been in the market for a while for soft strings for a beginner, tried lots of types, silk an steel, silver etc. These are just brilliant!!!Soft nice sound, taking chords just a simple pleasure, highly recommended to those who experience problems with sore fingertips as a beginning player.

    Good value consistant strings

Posted by Keith on 19th Dec 2013

Good value consistant strings. You get what you pay for I suppose. They last almost as long on a guitar you are playing regularly as they do on a guitar just hanging on the wall. Low E seems to deaden earlier than the rest.

    best ever

Posted by Frank Larkin on 19th Dec 2013

well I have been playing guitar for over 50 years and I have used so many different type strings over the years both electric and acoustic. The strings which were available during the 60s and 70s were Black Diamond and Hofner if you were lucky and over the years balanced sets became more available. I have used many different types, Jim Dunlop,Martin,GHS etc but this is the first time I have used this particular type of D'Adarrio and I find them the best yet I now won't use any other type
