Smooth and...
They feel great. Personally, like any flats, they get better with age. I feel like they're a little too bright for the first week or so, but once you've played on them a bit, they're great!

This is my favourite set of flatwound strings and strings in general for the bass guitar. They are beautifully smooth and produce such a warm and full tone. They are worth the extra cost 100%.
