D'addario Balanced Tension Bass Strings
D'Addario Balanced Tension Bass Strings use mathematically optimised string gauge combinations to deliver greater control and playing comfort. These Bass sets give a greater dynamic and more consistent feel between strings.
D'addario Bass Strings include a steel core with a nickel wrap which will give a lot of the fundamentals from a steel string but with the mellow sound of nickel tone. They are very easy on your fingers and most importantly, they are easy on your frets. D'Addario computer controlled precision wound delivers a bass string with excellent intonation, clear fundamentals and consistency pack after pack. Try the Bright Warm sound of the XL's on your own bass and see the difference.

Great for low tuning yet comfortable feel all...
I tune my bass pretty low (drop C) and the low open string was buzzing due to a pretty low tension with a normal 110 gauge. I had to very delicately file the nut (not much at all mind you, I think the nut will still allow for thinner gauges in the future) for the low 120 string to fit in but the tension feels amazing, both the low string but it's also incredibly easy to slide along the higher strings. Would definitely recommend to anyone thinking a 110 gauge might not be enough to your taste and/or needs.
