I thought I would give these Thomastik flat wound strings a try on my recently restored Gretsch Electromatic hollow body guitar and I am so delighted with the sound and playability I have ordered a second set.I have a Bigsby with a rocking pinned compensated bridge and though I went for 10s with the wound G string,the intonation is perfect despite some online review’s recommending 11s and they seem to bend adequately for playing styles.Being flat wound nickel,they should outlast the round wound strings on my other guitars

Great strings for my Gretsch g5129. Smooth under the fingers and help give that "woody" vintage tone to any hollobody guitar. Long lasting too!

Have used Thomastik flatwounds on my acoustic for years , so when my epiphone dot needed a restring I thought I'd give these a try , every so often an impulse buy pays off . Truly a pleasure to play and to the ears. The Strings.ie price was right and the dispatch was fast . A happy shopper all round.

If you're into jazz, these are the strings for you. They're unfortunately hard to find in stores but I find they have a superior tone and feel than their competitors. I also like the balance in gauge between the wound and unwound strings. You get a stronger tone from the top two without the bottom four being prohibitively heavy. The 12s are also great.
